Have you ever asked you the question if this job really for you? Is this really what I want to do? Do I really want to study this? Do I study because society pressure, parents pressure or friends pressure? What to do if I don’t know?
How to know what I really want in life ?
If you still don’t know what to do in life, don’t worry, you will figure it out. How ? Firstly, look at your childhood. What did you really like to do before someone said “don’t do this” or “don’t do that”? Was it playing an instrument? Painting? To draw? Doing a sport that you really liked ? And if you are like me, like loving and interested in a lot of things but not finding that one right thing, welcome to the club. How did I find out ? You have to know yourself and work on yourself. For me the key to that was meditation. “Oh no not that stupid thing”, don’t worry I was also thinking like this. You have to give it a try, put your ego away and just do it. In the beginning it’s going to be very weird and unusual, but keep doing it. Maybe the results won’t be there immediately, but every time you meditate, you come one step closer to your true self.
4 questions to know if your job is made for you: 1. Do you have stress when you do your job ? yes or no ? The western culture made it normal to be stressed, but it’s not normal. This is a sign that something is wrong but there’s a difference between stress and tension with this little excitement in you. Tension with this little excitement in you is normal when you do like something new, when you go out of your comfort zone. Stress is reason number 1 of all diseases. 2. Do you wake up every morning like “youpiee I go to work !” ? If the answer is no, then something has to change. 3. Do you feel that you are doing every day, the right thing ? Do you feel that you are on the right path ? If the answer is again no, change is needed. 4. Do you have to motivate yourself to do the job? Motivation is bullshit, if you have to motivate yourself to do something then it’s not the right thing. When you are doing the right thing, you don’t need motivation. You are doing it without a reason, it’s natural.
I would like to finish this article with giving some advice to the younger people who don’t know what to study. Don’t do like I did, study something because of parent’s, family’s or friend’s pressure. Don’t be in a hurry, take your time to discover yourself and to find out what you really want to do in life otherwise you are going to regret this.
