Why does Religion exist ?

This subject is going to be a hard one. Before I start, understand that I respect every religion and everyone has the right to believe in whatever he wants. This is just my opinion, you can agree or disagree with it.

To start, I would like to give you the definition of believe. Believe is: 1. Accept that something is true, especially without proof. 2. Hold something as an opinion;think. So when you believe in something, you are assuming that something exists.

What I mean by that is, someone who believes in something is making conclusions of something that he doesn’t know. Why people are making conclusions about something they don’t know ? Because the human has not the humility to say: “I don’t know”. He wants to say: “I know !”. The people who believe in God and the people who don’t believe in God are actually in the same boat, both believe. What we are sure about is, that there is a source of creation, otherwise all this wouldn’t exist.

What caused the most terrible things on this planet ? Ideologies, religion, philosophies,… everything that says: “I know and you, don’t know !” or “I’m right and you are not !”. See, all these things: Religion, race, country,… are things that separate us. inevitabely, it will create conflicts because it oppose two or more things. You just have to look at history. Belief gives you a confidence without clarity. Confidence without clarity is a disaster on this planet. There is no substitute for clarity.

In my opinion, religion was probably made to control the crowd. The Old Testament was made to create fear: “If you do this, God is going to be furious at you”,”do this”, “do that”. What if God doesn’t even know who you are? What if God hasn’t a plan for you? What if God doesn’t even know that earth exist is this whole cosmos ?

I think spirituality is the only thing that can connect us because it knows that we are all the same.
